Popular food blogger Leah Itsines has shared a controversial ‘food hack’ revealing a new way to slice up the iconic Aussie summer fruit – the mango.
“I’ve been seeing this online forever,” Leah announced, sharing a video to Instagram, with a mango and knife in hand.
“But I was like no we cut mangoes this way.”
The 26-year-old gestured, pretending to slice the fruit parallel down each side of the pit.
This is where the popular food blogger revealed the ‘correct’ way to slice up the tasty fruit.
“Have a look I’m cutting it this way.”
Leah moved the knife towards the centre of the mango and began slicing the fruit to create two equal halves.
“Ready…” Leah said before grabbing the halves and twisting them apart.
Then, with one “pop” the mango effortlessly split in two.
With a mango half in each hand, the mum-to-be instantly began laughing.
“It’s like a little cup!” she announced.
Leah placed one half of the mango down and began scooping out the flesh with a spoon from the other.
Laughing she turned to her partner off camera.
“That’s the best thing ever!”
With a 590k strong Instagram following, the foodie originally uploaded the clip on her Instagram story before making it a permanent video on her profile.
“Brought back by popular demand 🤣 now this mango cutting is forever on your feed hahahaha,” she wrote.
“Ps. We just don’t talk about the other pip side 🤣,” she captioned the post.
Leah wasn’t alone in her astonishment with some of her fans trying out the hack for themselves.
“I tried this yesterday after seeing this video. Mind blown 🤯,”one wrote.
“What the actual f!!!!! Best hack ever!” another chimed in.
“Omg I’ve been cutting it wrong! 😮,” another exclaimed.
However, the jury is out on whether this ‘food hack’ actually works with the trick dividing the internet.
“I tried it today and it didn’t work,” one frustrated user wrote.
“I tried this yesterday and made such a mess,” another agreed.
