Health Minister announces Clubs Queensland $10 voucher partnership to boost COVID vaccine coverage

Thousands of unvaccinated Queenslanders will be offered $10 meal vouchers after receiving their first dose, in a desperate bid by the Sunshine State to boost vaccination coverage.

Health Minister Yvette D’Ath unveiled the partnership with Clubs Queensland on Wednesday, which will see some who receive their first dose of the vaccine offered one of 7250 food and beverage vouchers.

The vouchers will be available across 29 clubs in major regional centres and southeast Queensland.

They will be handed out from Thursday upon exit from the vaccination hub to those who have received their first dose only.

78.5 per cent of eligible Queenslanders have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 65.3 per cent are fully vaccinated.

“If people weren’t convinced by the fact getting vaccinated could keep you out of hospital and save your life, they might be enticed by a $10 voucher that can be used at local clubs,” she said in a statement. “It’s another reason to get vaccinated.

“Getting the jab means you’re 80 per cent less likely to get COVID and pass it on.

“It’s time to roll up your sleeve and get the jab then roll up to your local club and have a feed.”
